Redwing Builders
There is no restriction on who may build a Redwing, it is simply subject to approval by the RYA to whom
a prospective owner must apply for a sail number. Note that members of Looe Sailing Club are exempt
from paying a designer's royalty on issue of the sail number.

Good Wood Boat Company specialises in new build and restoration of classic wooden boats including race measured dinghies. The business is run by Stephen Beresford, who in 2009, built the most recent National Redwing R249 Lioness. The business is also fully capable for repair and restoration of Redwings and recently completed major repairs to Venus, built in the 1950s. Clifford Adams - The Boat House, The Bay, East Looe, Cornwall has been our most prolific boatbuilder for many years, but has now offically retired.

Please contact the Association for more information if you are a interested in building
a Redwing or are a prospective owner ! Our class rules only allow hulls of traditional
timber construction. No 'glued ply' or fibreglass here please!
